ASSEMBLY Winter 2012 (Feb 25, Prizepool 3000 €)
It is finally time for The Biggest Tekken 6 Tournament In Finland. It is the second international Finnish Tekken tournament and last year winner was Malekith from Netherlands! Who will be the champion this year or will Malekith take the crown second time in a row?
This year the money prize pool will be as big as 3 000€! Top 3 are rewarded with money prize.
Event: ASSEMBLY Winter 2012
Dates: 24-26 February (T6 very likely on saturday 25)
Console: Playstation 3
Format: Double Elimination (possibly pools => DE)
Location: Kaapelitehdas, Helsinki, Finland (address: Tallberginkatu 1)
Costs: 25 € entry fee to the event
Prizes:
1) 1500 €
2) 1000 €
3) 500 €
Location:
Kaapelitehdas is a large expo center in a central location in Helsinki. It's very easy the get there with metro. Entry fee to the event will be approximately 25 € and gives you right to enter all the console tournament (including Tekken) and also to use the sleeping area (if you for some reason want to bring a sleeping bag and sleep there).
Casuals:
Casuals will be a big part of the event. Last year we had 3-4 casual stations just for Tekken all the time. And we willl try to provide more room for even more stations so prepare for lots of great casual matches through the weekend. Other fighting games will be probably available also, such as SF4. There might be also a SF4 tournament (more info about that leter).
Free Accomodation:
Players who live in Helsinki will be able house quite a lot of players. If you're planning to come and need housing, just contact any of the players listed below with a PM or you could let me know (reply or PM) and I will work out the details. We are planning to have one big house at the players' disposal all the time from Thursday to Monday. Contact persons:
- Entomo
- Philo
Hotels:
If you prefer a hotel/hostel though, here's a couple of suggestions:
- Holiday Inn (very close to the venue)
- Omena Hotel (cheap, Eerikinkatu probably best)
- Hostels.com search (Omena is probably always the cheapest option though)
Traveling:
Helsinki airport is located quite close to the city. The bus ride to central costs about 4 € and takes about 25 minutes. We will also try to give car rides to the airport and back. Flight from a major European city to Helsinki and back will cost approx. 130~180 €. Players from Sweden and the Baltic countries could find Viking Line/Tallink ferries being the cheapest option.
Organizers:
The tournament is organized by an organization called Peliliiga ("gaming league"). If any questions rise, let me know and I will contact the staff or you can contact
petri.hamala@peliliiga.fi directly
Sign Up:
If you want to participate in the tournament, please reply to this thread and give your nickname and country and we will add you to the participant list down in this post. There might be online signup later but for now just replying will be fine.
Welcome to Assembly Winter everyone from everywhere!
